- Log in. Enter your name and the campaign password, then pick House or Apartment. You need a connection to log in. After that, the app works offline.
- At a house. Start typing the street name and pick it from the suggestions. Enter the street number, tap the stars for support level, answer any other questions, add notes if you want, and tap Submit.
- At an apartment building. Enter the building's address once and tap Proceed. Then, at each door, enter the unit number and the answers, and tap Submit. Tap Change Location when you move to the next building.
- Support level. Tap 1 to 5 stars. What each level means depends on your campaign, so ask your campaign manager.
- Other questions. Sign requests, volunteering and donating only show up if you switch them on in the menu at the top right. Switch them on only if your campaign is collecting them.
- No signal. Keep going. A yellow banner shows that you're offline or that the server can't be reached, and your answers are saved on your phone. They send on their own when the connection comes back. Open the menu and tap Unsynced submissions to see what's still waiting, or what the server refused.
- Check your last entry. The Previous Submission box below the form shows what you just sent.
About the name
PVote is like GVote, but small (like a pea), so it's PVote. GVote was full-featured canvassing software used by the Green Party. PVote was made minimal on purpose. It's built for going door to door, including in apartment buildings.
